Dr. Crofts has just opened a new clinic in Price, Utah. While he was there opening the clinic, he gave a seminar at Castleview Hospital on plastic and reconstructive surgery. He presented his seminar to doctors, nurses, hospital administration, community members and local newspapers and radio stations.
The purpose of the seminar was to further educate the audience about plastic surgery through a modern, non-stigmatized perspective. Dr. Croft explained that people have always been concerned with beauty, all the way back to the Ancient Egyptians, it is not a modern concern.
Plastic surgery has gained a negative reputation because of celebrities and famous people who take cosmetic surgery too far and end up looking unnatural. Dr. Crofts stressed how important is to make sure you know what you are doing when making a choice to have cosmetic surgery. The aim of plastic surgery should never be to change how you look, but to correct or enhance certain areas. When done correctly and with the right mindset, cosmetic surgery can dramatically increase self-esteem.
Dr. Crofts also emphasized how important it is to learn about your plastic surgeon. He mentioned three questions that must always be asked in order to ensure a satisfying, safe procedure: Where will the procedures take place? What is your training? Are you board certified?
