The mommy makeover is one of the most popular procedures at Aesthetica Plastic Surgery, as well as in the industry. This procedure can include both invasive, non-invasive, and surgical procedures for women who have been through pregnancy, done breastfeeding, and those who have lost a significant amount of weight. The term mommy makeover has found its way into social media and it has become the procedure of choice for many, including Hollywood celebrities.
What is a mommy makeover?
A mommy makeover surgery is a combination of different surgeries, treatments, and procedures to help women restore a more youthful, pre-baby body. Depending on the patient, their needs, and goals, these procedures can be both surgical and non-surgical.
Dr. Crofts has over 25 years of experience in Plastic Surgery and can help you decide what procedure(s) are recommended to help you reach your surgical goals. Aesthetica Medical Spa is a premier medical spa in Pleasant Grove under the direction of Dr. Crofts which carry bespoke non-surgical treatments. What does a mommy makeover include?
A mommy makeover is not a one size fits all and can include any surgery or treatment to achieve the patient’s goals. A mommy makeover may include a tummy tuck, breast augmentation, breast lift, liposuction, and labiaplasty. Non-surgical treatments that can be included in a mommy makeover are laser treatments, FemTouch Laser vaginal rejuvenation, Ohh-Shot, hormone optimization and balancing, medical weight loss, dermal fillers, Sculptra, and more.
Traditionally, mommy makeovers include a tummy tuck, breast augmentation, breast lift, and/or liposuction. Wondering which surgical procedure is right for you? Schedule a consultation with Dr. Crofts today.
What isn’t a mommy makeover?
Like any other plastic surgery procedure, a mommy makeover should be only done for you and nobody else. Restoring your confidence through surgery can be life changing and should be a personal decision and journey.
Additionally, many patients are sometimes confused and think that a mommy makeover is a weight loss surgery. A mommy makeover removes sagging tissue, sagging skin, and it can remove unwanted fat through liposuction, but it is not a weight loss procedure. Dr. Crofts recommends his surgical patients to be at their ideal weight before considering plastic surgery. Click here to learn more about weight loss and liposuction.
If weight loss is one of your primary concerns, we offer a medical weight loss program through our medical spa. See what Aesthetica’s medical weight loss program looks like and how you can get started.
Are there alternative, non-surgical options for a mommy makeover?
Alternative, non-surgical mommy makeover options are available and they depend on your goals and anatomy. Aesthetica Medical Spa offers patients Morpheus8, radiofrequency microneedling, to address minor loose skin and fine lines and wrinkles. Morpheus8 cannot help patients with severely sagging skin, only plastic surgery can address that. We also offer FemTouch vaginal laser – helps with vaginal laxity and more – as well as Ohh-Shot which can help clitoral stimulation and more. What is the downtime for a mommy makeover surgery?
Recovery depends on what procedures are done, but typically plan on 6 to 8 weeks of no lifting over 5 lbs and no strenuous activity.
During recovery, you will be sore, swollen, and bruised. Be sure to have your meals prepared ahead of time because you may not be able to cook or clean. Better yet, ask for help from a friend or family member. You will need help around the house or running your daily errands and chores, so make sure you have support available to assist you in doing so.
The best way to ensure great results and an easier healing journey from a mommy makeover is to give your body the time it needs to heal properly and choose a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.
