Renuvion, previously known as J-Plasma or J-Plasty is a medical device that combines helium plasma and a proprietary radiofrequency (RF) energy to stimulate tissue contraction by carefully heating connective tissues directly beneath the skin. The Renuvion procedure promotes natural collagen production leading to continuous soft tissue tightening and rejuvenation in the months following the procedure.
What areas can you treat with Renuvion?
Dr. Crofts is a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon with over 23 years of experience in Utah. Dr. Crofts has performed thousands of procedures to help patients reach their aesthetic goals. Following your procedure, Dr. Crofts will see you. Our team is here to assist with your recovery.
During a Renuvion treatment, a thin wand is inserted at small entry points at the target area (similar to liposuction), and the energy is applied underneath the skin. Renuvion delivers even, controlled energy with exceptional precision. Helium plasma and radio frequency (RF) energy are emitted simultaneously through a slender hand-held wand to provide an even application below the skin’s surface. This technique offers a dramatic yet gentle effect on tissue.
Results vary from patient to patient. Some patients often report noticing results immediately after the procedure. However, results will continue to improve over the next 6-9 months as the body goes through the healing process.
Patients report minimal discomfort during the recovery process, including minor swelling and bruising for 1-2 weeks after the procedure. Patients can expect to return to full activity at two weeks. For Renuvion procedures for the face and neck, we recommend wearing a neckband for two weeks after the procedure and an additional 6 weeks at night only.
Healthy men and women who are looking to address loose skin from age, weight loss, or pregnancy. For individuals with more advanced needs, traditional plastic surgery procedures may be a better alternative.
