What is Breast Augmentation Surgery?
The goal of breast augmentation is to create beautiful breasts that look and feel natural. Dr. Crofts uses silicone or saline implants to increase the size and projection of the breast. Dr. Crofts will discuss with you what implant shape, style, and fullness you want in order to achieve your ideal look. Breast augmentation alone does not change the breast’s basic shape, nor does it address breast sagginess (ptosis). In order to achieve their desired results, some patients may need lifting or reshaping of the breast tissue along with the placement of implants. Dr. Crofts will address these considerations with you during your consultation.

As a board-certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience, Dr. Crofts has performed thousands of breast augmentations. He uses an open pocket technique to augment the breasts. This technique allows for the implants to move freely in the breast pocket, creating a more natural look and feel. We have several different silicone implants options, including the gummy bear implants, to tailor to each patient’s needs.
Journey To Confidence
At your consultation, you will be able to discuss questions and voice what you would like changed through surgery. Dr Crofts will discuss the details of the procedure and create a surgical plan with you. You will also get to try on implant sizers and get an idea of the look and size implant to best fit your anatomy and surgical goals. Our office staff will provide you with a surgery quote and work with you to schedule a surgery date.
You will have a pre-operative appointment three weeks prior to surgery. At this appointment, you will sign consents, discuss any last minute questions and concerns, and get further pre- and post-surgery instructions.
Your surgery will take place at an accredited facility. Breast augmentation surgery is generally a 1-hour procedure and you will be released home on the same day.
Generally, you will be seen 1 to 3 days after surgery and again 4 to 5 days later. Further post operative appointments will continue and be dependent upon your recovery.
Dr Crofts' open pocket technique allows for patients to be back at the gym and doing most activities by two weeks after the surgery. Most patients feel good enough to go to dinner or a movie within a day of surgery. At Aesthetica, post-operative care and safety is our number one priority. Patients are seen frequently after their procedure to ensure healing and recovery is on track. Patients also have 24-hour access to a nurse on call for emergencies.

Where do I begin. I was so nervous to have a breast re-augumentation 20 years after my first surgery. I was on the hunt for the right surgeon, and i went to 3 plastic surgeons before I went to Dr Crofts. He told me so many things that not 1 of the other 3 mentioned, and he knew the best way for me to achieve the best results. That was over a year ago. I just had surgery on January 15th, and he exceeded my expectations. I am still in my 2 week post op Era, and already can see how great they will look. His staff has been TOP NOTCH. They've treated me with such compassion, kindness, and I had a situation with one of my drains, I called the after hours nurse at 9pm on a Friday night and she picked up immediately, got in touch with Dr Crofts and I had a solution in less than 10 minutes. They called and checked up on me. The entire experience has been the best experience I've had in my 44 years of different surgeries over the years. For those interested in my procedure. Prior to surgery, I was half implant, half breast tissue. I wanted to get rid of the breast tissue (due to density and troubles with mammograms) and be mostly implant for my volume. My prior implant pockets were uneven, but I didn't know that because the real breast tissue sat it front and hid that problem. In order to make my implant pockets even, Dr Crofts suggested the Galaflex internal bra to reinforce the pockets so the new implants won't go back into old pockets. Especially going from saline implants to silicone, which are a little heavier. He was the only doctor who addressed that problem. He said that without reinforcements, he couldn't guarantee the new implants would not settle into the old uneven pockets. He was right. After that initial appointment, I did so much research, and I was a prime candidate for Galaflex. I'm so glad he suggested it. He's truly a great surgeon. Can't recommend he and his amazing staff enough. I am extremely happy with my results, and I can't wait to see how they look over the next few months. My husband was in shock. He couldn't believe how great they looked, even the night of the surgery. I am so glad I followed my instincts and went with Dr Crofts. I just left the office of DrCrofts for my pre op appointment and I had to leave a review because I couldn't be more excited. I went in very nervous about my upcoming Tummy Tuck and Breast Augmentation It was late as I was their last appointment of the day and they did not make me feel rushed. They took their time and made me so comfortable. but they eased my concerns with answering all my questions. It was a good experience and I'm looking forward to the big day.

What are the types of breast implants?
There are 2 basic types of breast implants. They are saline and silicone. Saline implants are filled with sterile salt water known as saline. Silicone is a gel filled implant. They come in different shapes and sizes, but both saline and silicone implants have a silicone outer shell.
What are gummy bear breast implants?
“Gummy bear implant” is a nickname for highly cohesive silicone implants. This implant gives more stability or shape as the silicone gel is more strongly crosslinked to provide structure.
Will the sensitivity in my breasts or nipples change after breast implants?
The risk of sensation loss depends on the incision and surgical approach. Incisions in the inframammary fold tend to not cause sensation alteration as frequently. Some women may experience sensation changes after augmentation due to swelling and recovery, but after a few weeks, most of the changes will diminish.
